Advertising Sales + Event Coordinator Position

We are a small, but mighty, publishing house with a team of fun, creative and dedicated outdoors enthusiasts. We are looking for a dynamic, seasoned Sales Associate to join our sales team and rock the print and digital force of Gold Travel Blog, Inc. The rock star in this full-time position will also be the Event Logistics Coordinator.

OutdoorsNW magazine focuses on outdoor events, races, sports and adventures in Washington state, Oregon and Idaho. For the past 27 years we have been the trusted voice of outdoors recreation in the region.

What we are looking for in an ideal candidate is all or most of the following requirements and qualifications:

Required

  • College education – minimum AA degree;
  • Minimum of two years in media sales;
  • Proven history of successful media sales in both print and digital advertising;
  • Comfortable making cold calls and connecting with people over the phone, email and in person;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills with clear understanding of the importance of follow-up, client acquisition and retention, and timely delivery of promised material and information;
  • Proven ability to lead, coordinate and manage administration tasks associated with sales and event logistics coordination;
  • Willingness and high aptitude to participate in collaboration efforts, brainstorming ideas and taking projects to the finish line that move forward the magazines to increase readership and sales revenue;
  • Strong written, verbal and listening skills;
  • Strong understanding of social media;
  • Sense of humor, flexibility and acceptance of difference among others.

Responsibilities

  • The primary duties of this position is selling print and digital advertising, managing administration and logistics around everything to do with media advertising;
  • Coordination with event directors and their staff for goody-bag recruitment, fulfillment, administration and logistics.

Additional responsibilities and criteria of the position

  • Meeting clients, attending events and traveling to trade shows (locally and nationally);
  • Administrative sales functions, such as tracking sales, writing proposals, sending and receiving contracts, and occasional follow-up on past-due accounts;
  • Engage in social media to enhance sales, work with editorial to further increase exposure;
  • Participate in the development of special sections, new sales products and custom pubs;
  • Keeping current on issues associated with job duties, collaborating with appropriate personnel, and communicating activities during staff meetings;
  • Team player, organized, detail-oriented, analytical, creative, flexible, with the ability to multi-task and effectively communicate and get jobs finished. Task-oriented, with a keen focus on deadlines;
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite and web-based applications and databases;
  • Automobile and valid driver’s license required;
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
