Kyle Fisher knows ski boots. Born and raised in Seattle’s Sunset Hill neighborhood, Fisher grew up in his dad’s ski and bike shop, Alpine Hut. He started selling boots when he was 15 and fitting boots soon after that.

Last February, our family headed to the 49th state to enjoy some downhill, Nordic and the Fur Rondy festivities Anchorage, Alaska is known for. Our flight left Seattle at 8 a.m. and just after lunch that day, we unloaded off Chair 6 at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, 40 miles south of Anchorage.
