Mountaineers sponsors OutdoorsFest Saturday
OutdoorsFest, one of the biggest and coolest outdoor fests in the Northwest, is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Mountaineers building at Magnuson Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to seminars, a gear swap, beer garden and outdoor gear vendors, the day will kick off with a 5k Trivia Trail Run with sign-up at 8:15 a.m. ($10) and race start at 9 a.m.
Participants run a 5k in Magnuson Park stopping every 1k to answer a trivia question. Questions will be multiple choice and involve correctly identifying an unmarked trail, peak, lake, ridge, etc. on a map. Correct answers will take time off your final time, incorrect answers will add to it. You’re fast, but do you know where Gothic Peak is?
Also scheduled is a talk by Jake Norton who was part of the team that discovered George Mallory’s body on Mt. Everest in 1999. Hear him at 1 p.m.

Romp to Stomp offers early discount
