The Mountaineers’ four-part BeWild Speaker and Film Series treated outdoor enthusiasts with presentations from expedition kayaker Ben Stookesberry in April and from Expedition Denali youths in May.

Next up in the series is a special presentation from Northwest author Tami Asars on June 20. An avid hiker and backpacker and a third generation Washingtonian who calls the North Cascades home, Asars will offer her perspective on adventuring in your own backyard.

Stay tuned for the final BeWild event on July 24, when author and wildlife biologist Douglas H. Chadwick and photographer Steven Gnam give a multi-media presentation exploring one of the last intact mountain ecosystems in North America based on their new book Crown of the Continent: The Wildest Rockies.

BeWild is hosted at the Mountaineers Seattle Program Center in Magnuson Park. Tickets are available for 300 attendees, and series’ purchasers will receive commemorative pint glasses among other special surprises. Each event will have a no-host bar and local food trucks.
