The Columbia River Gorge Hiking Tour, offered by Timberline Adventures, has been recognized by National Geographic Traveler magazine as one of the top 50 “Tours of a Lifetime.”
During the competitive selection process, the magazine’s editorial team looked for 2013’s most authentic, most innovative, most immersive, best-guided and most sustainable tours.
“Timberline Adventures’ Columbia River Gorge captures that spirit of exploration,” said NG executive editor Norie Quintos. “They push the boundaries of mainstream tourism.”
During the six-day Columbia River Gorge Hiking Tour, participants are guided through 48-miles of trails that include dozens of towering waterfalls – like the 620-foot Multnomah Falls, as well as Latourell, Wahkeena and Horsetail Falls. Van shuttles take tour goers to and fro between hiking destinations and lodging, and provide airport transportation for out-of-towners.
Timberline Adventures is a 32-year-old Colorado-based tour company for hikers and cyclists. In addition to this honor, National Geographic selected Timberline Adventures as one of the “Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth.”
