Get up and GO with SylvanSport

The SylvanSport GO camping trailer might provide the most versatile and comfortable camping experience you’ve ever had. Setup and takedown of the tent is a breeze, and it can sleep up to four people.

Small-car owners can adventure fearlessly with this lightweight camping trailer, which is able to transport up to 1,000 pounds. You don’t have to choose between camping and kayaking, or camping and cycling – just strap your favorite gear to the racks, and you’ll be on the road to fun.

As if that weren’t enough, you can carry a motorcycle or lumber on this bad boy. Retail price: $8,495 plus $925 shipping. www.Go-PNW.com; Go.SylvanSport.com

Versatile pad offers convenience and comfort

With a cushy fleece top, zippered stash pocket for keys and a coated, ripstop nylon underneath, you can take ENO’s LaunchPad versatile pad to the beach, camping, hiking—and your own backyard. When done, just fold and zip, and sling the detachable carry strap over your shoulder. Comes in double (5’10″x 4’10″), and single (5’10″x 3′) sizes; colors: blue/bright green; orange/gray; navy/olive. Retail price: $84.95, $69.95. www.ENOnation.com

Superhero gadget gives gear a lift

It’s a gadget! It’s a whatchamacallit! It’s a Qlipter from Seattle-based Lulabop! We found this new take on the classic caribiner useful for those times when we don’t need to carry our hiking and climbing gear but also need to keep it off the ground. With a swiveling hook and soft rubber end cap, the Qlipter is the perfect portable mount for hanging your pack just about anywhere. During the work week, it’s also a great place to hang your purse, backpack or briefcase. Now, that’s super! Retail price: $20. www.Lulabop.com

Keen’s light hiking shoe offers delightful versatility

Billed as a light hiker, the Keen Marshall offers excellent versatility, especially for Northwest hikers. Breathable and lightweight, the Marshall comes with a high-traction outsole—good for trails that aren’t too slippery—and great for everyday wear. Men’s and women’s sizes; $110.  www.KeenFootwear.com

Oboz Helium: Ultra-light shoe is a gas to hike in!

By Craig Romano/NW Trails Hiking Editor

I’ve been a big fan of Oboz Footwear for many years now and have put several of their models to the test on the trail. They always pass with flying colors. Oboz’s newest model, the Helium, a “multi-sport, multi-tasker” shoe is no exception. Built like a trail-running shoe, yet a little more rigid in the outsoul for stability; the Helium is ultra-light, ultra-breathable and ultra-comfortable. This shoe is ideal for packing in lots of miles on the trail and perhaps a little scrambling and belaying along the way. Retail price: $120.  www.ObozFootwear.com

Support and stability on and off the trails

The first thing you’ll notice about the Hoka One One Bondi 3 running shoes are their super chunky soles. Certainly a buck away from the minimalist trend, these surprisingly lightweight shoes provide ample support for sensitive knee joints and help ease slight pronation.

A lightly cushioned mesh upper provides additional foot support and stability while allowing your feet to breath. Available in an array of vibrant tones with bright accents, the Bondi 3 will provide the support you need for running up and—especially—down hills. Retail price: $150. www.HokaOneOne.com

Two bright ideas from Rayovac

Rayovac recently added two new products to light your way on nighttime adventures: the Virtually Indestructible Sportsman Spotlight and the Virtually Indestructible Sportsman Lantern. These bright ideas are perfect for any outdoor activity and both offer long-lasting power.

The Sportsman Spotlight can be submerged under water for half an hour without fear of damage. And, the Sportsman Lantern provides up to 280 hours of battery run time. Both of these virtually indestructible lights come with lifetime warranties. Retail price: Spotlight $39.99; lantern $29.99. www.Rayovac.com

Convenient trash bags for outdoor fun

This is the kind of picnic or camping product that you’ll love the first time out. Trash-Ease is a conveniently portable trash-bag holder that attaches to picnic tables or any similar flat surface, allowing users to have a stable, large trash receptacle anywhere they happen to be—keeping your bag open and ready when you are. We love this product! Two sizes: $14.95 (13 gallon), $17.95 (33 gallon). www.Trash-Ease.com
