The 17th annual Seattle Bicycle Expo returns to the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal in Seattle, Wash. March 1-2.

This year’s show includes new bikes, gear and services from more than 175 local vendors. There will also be entertainment from artistic cyclists and professional bike stunt-riders, expert demos, panels and how-to workshops for riders of all levels.

Presentations include an intro to transportation cycling for families by Family Bike Seattle founder Morgan Scherer, a special presentation by Willie Weir, the author of Travels with Willie and Spokesongs, an STP seminar by STP committee member Will Chin, a presentation and Q&A for women cyclists, and more.

For the younger crowd, there will be an Expo Kids Zone with fun prizes and bike-related activities, including a bicycle Spirograph machine, bike art table and treasure hunt. There will be a kids riding class at 9:30-10:45 a.m. on March 1 and a Wheelie Fun stunt course 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 1-2.

Camera-toting cyclists can also enter to win the 16th annual Kenmore Camera Photo Contest at the expo. There will be ribbons awarded to the top three photos in each of six categories. Get the details here: www.cascade.org/photo-contest

Event Details

What: 17th Annual Seattle Bike Expo

When:

March 1: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

March 2: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Seattle Cruise Ship Terminal 91, 2001 West Garfield Street, Seattle, WA 98119

Parking: Motorists should use the north gate to access public parking. The first 150 cyclists to corral their bikes each day will receive a complimentary top tube bag for their bike.

Tickets:

Single-day pass: $10; two-day pass: $12; or, donate your bike to Bike Works to get a free ticket.

Kids under 15 attend for free.
