Beth Brewster invited to participate in the Ultraman

Take that Ironman!

The pride of the Kitsap Peninsula, Beth Brewster, is about to embark on the race of her life. The owner of Kingston Adventures in Kingston, Wash. was recently invited as one of 40 participants worldwide to participate in the Ultraman World Championships Nov. 29-Dec. 1 on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Covering a total distance of 320 miles, the race disciplines include a 6.2-mile ocean swim, a 261.4-mile bike ride and a 52.4-mile run. Compare to the Ironman distances of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.-2 mile run. The record for this race is 21 hours, 41 minutes and 22 seconds in the men’s race, and 24 hours, 7 minutes and 11 seconds for the women.

Brewster is the first athlete from Washington state to be invited to participate in the Ultraman.
