Party On Washington State Parks!

Deception Pass and Riverside (Spokane) state parks will offer dozens of activities as Washington State Parks continues its Centennial celebrations this summer.
Riverside State Park in Spokane will offer a variety of activities June 8 featuring family activities, river rafting and demonstrations, recreation vendors, music and more. Food will be available to purchase from area vendors participating in the event. Representatives of the Spokane Tribe will welcome participants to a speaker ceremony.
A second, western Washington signature celebration, is planned for Saturday, Aug. 3, at Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. Meanwhile, dozens of events and activities are planned in parks all over the state, throughout the season. For more information, visit www.parks.wa.gov/events/.

State Parks free days
Washington State Parks has announced the following “free days,” when the Discover Pass will not be required to visit a state park.
Following are the 2013 State Parks “free days”:
· June 8 and 9 – National Get Outdoors Day and Department of Fish and Wildlife Free Fishing weekend
· Aug. 4 – Peak season free day
· Sept. 28 – National Public Lands Day
· Nov. 9 through 11 – Veteran’s Day weekend
A Discover Pass will still be required on these days to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
