Run for pumpkins at the Pumpkin Push 5k Oct. 26

The 18th annual – and original – Pumpkin Push 5k run or 2-mile walk around Seward Park in South Seattle is scheduled Oct. 26. Families welcome. Wear your costume for a chance to win big prizes. All participants receive a pumpkin, food and beverages, a long-sleeved authentic Pumpkin Push shirt and are free to roam the ghostly festival where sponsors will offer fun and frivolity!
The Pumpkin Push is an event with a great cause. It supports health care at Neighborcare Health for homeless patients. Participants are encouraged to raise funds that support the association. Plus, the top fundraiser will win a trip for two to Montana on the Amtrak Empire Builder. The winners will stay two nights stay at the Izaak Walton Inn in Essex. Amtrak is also bringing free Amtrak Cascades companion passes for participants.
By participating in the Pumpkin Push 5K to Care for Seattle’s Homeless, you’re carving out a place for Seattle’s most vulnerable residents to get the health care they need. In 2011, Neighborcare provided health care to more than 8,000 homeless adults, seniors, children and unaccompanied youth – the highest number of homeless patients served in the organization’s 44- year history.
