SnowSports Industries America (SIA) has a fun lineup of guided snow tours and educational clinics coming up for Winter Trails Day on Jan. 11.

Northwest events include snowshoeing at Mt. Hood in Oregon, and at the Mountaineers’ Snoqualmie Lodge in Washington. Demo snowshoes from Tubbs, Atlas and MSR will be available to borrow for free at both locations.

Mt. Hood snowshoers will meet at the White River West Sno-Park. Don’t forget your Oregon Sno-Park Pass! Guides from REI Outdoor School will lead short guided tours from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Snacks will be provided by Nossa Familia and Skout Bars.

Volunteers at Snoqualmie Lodge will lead short snowshoe tours from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Hot cocoa, cider and coffee will be available to benefit the Mountaineers’ Youth Adventure Club.

“Snowpack and trail conditions are looking really good across the country and all the Winter Trails locations have fantastic programs in place.” says Reese Brown, Winter Trails program organizer. “Winter Trails Day is just one of those rare opportunities to get the whole family outside having fun in the middle of winter.”

Event-goers are asked to wear weather-appropriate clothing and waterproof boots.
