The newest addition to the Cascadia Marine Trail is making a splash as the Washington Water Trails Association (WWTA) has recently added the Kitsap Peninsula Water Trails as an official segment to its national scenic trail.
To kick off the festivities, paddling enthusiasts can try out the new water trail by participating in Paddle Kitsap, Aug. 10 – 11. The event features one- and two-day kayak trips, complete with food, shuttles, rentals and equipment transportation. Logistics are taken care of for event-goers, so they can fully enjoy the weekend and soak up the shimmering estuaries.
There are also chances for newbies to try their hand at smaller excursions at the Silverdale Waterfront Park. Kayak and standup paddleboards rentals are available, and they come with a free lesson.
